The Home Buyer's Assistance Foundation (HBAF) awards $250.00 grants to qualified first-time homebuyers who have prepared themselves for homeownership by taking an approved homebuyers education class, worked with a REALTOR® and are purchasing a home of $230,000.00 or less.

Grant recipients are selected by the HBAF Board of Directors. There is only one grant per household allowed and recipients must reside in Nebraska.

Here are the steps to receiving the grant:

• Download the Grant Application here.  

• Within the last six months, you must use the services of a REALTOR® to purchase your first home that does not exceed the purchase price of $230,000.00

• Complete a homebuyer education course through a REACH affiliate or online education approved by NIFA.

• Attach a copy of your closing statement and educational certificate.
